A new (R)evolution in the cleaning of medical devices

Cleaning medical instruments in the medical industry is often a compromise. The ultimate goal of infection prevention activities are to minimize the risk of infection before it can happen. Reusable surgical tools must be thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated before they can be successfully sterilized. These reprocessing steps are extremely crucial, so the capabilities, quality and performance of reprocessing equipment such as washer disinfectors are critical for patient safety. The product must be specifically designed to clean and disinfect instruments. The key question always is: is it really clean?

Never say ultrasonic to each ultrasonic cleaning device.
Many differences exist.

Ultrasonic cleaning is good, but not (always) good enough. This applies especially for hospitals using ultrasonic devices to pre-clean surgical instruments. We experienced this firsthand when we started UltraZonic Med technology in 2013.
We develop innovative products and technologies for ultrasonic cleaning, which hasn’t seen much development over the past 50 years. Currently, new approaches are being deploid, like frequency modulation, skimming, sweep etc.

Ultrasonic cleaning uses cavitation bubbles induced by high frequency pressure (sound) waves to agitate a liquid. The agitation produces high forces on contaminants adhering to substrates like metals, plastics, glass, rubber, and ceramics. This action also penetrates blind holes, cracks, and recesses. The intention is to thoroughly remove all traces of contamination tightly adhering or embedded onto solid surfaces. Water or solvents can be used, depending on the type of contamination and the workpiece. Contaminants can include dust, dirt, oil, pigments, rust, grease, algae, fungus, bacteria, lime scale, polishing compounds, flux agents, fingerprints, soot wax and mold release agents, biological soil like blood, and so on.

Ultrasonic cleaning can be used for a wide range of workpiece shapes, sizes and materials, and may not require the part to be disassembled prior to cleaning. Objects must not be allowed to rest on the bottom of the device during the cleaning process, because that will prevent cavitation from taking place on the part of the object not in contact with solvent. UltraZonic cleaning technology is fast, gentle and extremely powerful. Microscopic cavitation bubbles and specially formulated eco-friendly solutions seek out every crease and crevice, eliminating stubborn or difficult-to-reach contaminants in the process.

SAFER FOR YOU, YOUR EMPLOYEES AND THE ENVIRONMENT.
UltraZonic technology uses absolutely no harmful chemicals. No fumes. No strong odors. No dangerous or expensive chemical disposal. Reduced risk.

EASY TO USE — NO WASHING BY HAND OR SUPERVISION REQUIRED.
The technology is remarkable, but the process is simple. More efficient and effective than chemical processes, the machines are as simple to use as a dishwasher, with no manual intervention or supervision necessary.

BOTTOM LINE IMPACT.
An investment in UltraZonic cleaners means increased patient safety.

SAVING MONEY.
The efficiency of UltraZonic’s ultrasonic cleaning technology means you save money on every use.

SAVING TIME.
A far superior cleaning technology results in cost and labor time savings. Virtually no employee training is required before using UltraZonic machines. Even your toughest-to-clean parts and components come out ready to install. No supervision means you’ll see an increase in production speed and employee efficiency during cleaning. Also, no hand wiping is needed to finish the job.

SAVING WORRY.
Rely on UltraZonic microscopic ultrasonic cleaning bubbles and rest assured that contaminants are removed and eliminated from every corner and crevice… quickly, safely and thoroughly. You won’t have to worry about potentially faulty procedures or the possibility of missed build-up in a small groove of an intricate but critical instrument.

SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT.
The UltraZonic non-toxic cleaning process uses biodegradable water-based solutions, all of which meet state and federal EPA guidelines. It’s safer for your employees, with the associated peace of mind and cost savings. Perhaps more importantly, it’s safer for your patients, reducing the need for expensive and inconvenient disposal services.
